According to multiple sources it is looking more and more like Brian Gionta will become a UFA today as both sides cannot reach an agreement.

Also Mike Weaver and Francis Bouillon will become UFA’s as well today as both sides could not reach an agreement on new deals.

A source believes that the Canadiens still have some interest in Matt Moulson but it seems like they are out of the running right now.

The Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs still remain hopeful that Josh Gorges will waive hit no trade clause to go to Toronto as the deal still stands, although time is running out.

According to Louis Jean of TVA Sports the Montreal Canadiens have shown interest in defenseman Stephane Robidas.

According to Darren Dreger of TSN the Canadiens are in Dan Boyle’s list of top 5 teams he would like to sign on to. It is less likely the Habs sign Boyle mainly because of his contract terms being to high.

There was also some rumors around that the Habs were interested in signing Jarome Iginla these rumors since then have been denied by multiple sources.
