Josh Gorges being shopped around?

Josh Gorges name has come up time and time again in trade talks and in this past draft there were numerous reports of Gorges being involved in trades. According to Bob McKenzie of TSN the Toronto Maple Leafs showed serious interest in Montreal Canadiens defenseman Josh Gorges and both sides were discussing a trade on Saturday.

“The Toronto Maple Leafs made a pitch to their rival club but no Canadian team is on the list of 15 clubs to which Gorges would accept a trade.”

McKenzie reports that Gorges has all six Canadian clubs (Toronto, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver) on his no trade list. What is puzzling here is that Josh is from Kelowna, British Columbia and if McKenzie’s reports is true it looks like he would not like to go to his hometown team in Vancouver.

A source suggests that in addition to the six Canadian teams that Gorges would not waive his no trade clause to are the New York Islanders, Florida Panthers, Carolina Hurricanes, Buffalo Sabres, Boston Bruins, Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Nashville Predators and Dallas Stars.

Some teams that may show interest Josh Gorges are the Minnesota Wild, Chicago Blackhawks, Colorado Avalanche, Detroit Red Wings and the Washington Capitals.
