Marc Bergevin looking to make a couple of trades?

There has been quite a bit of talk over the past week and a half about potentials deals the Canadiens could make to improve their roster. A source told TheHabsNation that the Habs have been in conversation with a couple of western conference clubs which were later revealed to be the Anaheim Ducks, Chicago Blackhawks, Colorado Avalanche and the Winnipeg Jets as well as the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Canadiens made a deal a couple of weeks ago with the Anaheim Ducks as they sent former first round pick Louis Leblanc to California for a conditional 5th round draft choice. Some sources have indicated that the Habs are still talking with the Chicago Blackhawks but no details have been confirmed yet.

Jimmy Murphy of XN Sports reported today the Habs have also now been in contact with the Florida Panthers who Bergevin has a history with dealing with, through the ‘Chicago connection’ of GM Dale Tallon.

“Also heard Habs and Panthers talking trade. Wasn’t for #1 pick but trying to confirm for what.”

Some possible players that Marc Bergevin may be trying to move are forwards Rene Bourque and Daniel Briere whose names have been floating around for some time now.
