Habs place Mayer on unconditional waivers to terminate contract

The Montreal Canadiens have placed AHL Hamilton Bulldog’s goalie Robert Mayer on unconditional waivers today in order to terminate his contract. Mayer is expected to join Geneve-Servette of the Swiss A-league where he played in two games with the club during the Spengler Cup this year.

Mayer, 24, played 29 games with the Hamilton Bulldogs this season and posted a 10-14-4 record, 2.80 goals against average and a .909 save percentage.
