Jacob de la Rose expected to be in the NHL/AHL next season

Montreal Canadiens prospect Jacob de la Rose is expected to play with either the Hamilton Bulldogs or with the big club in Montreal. According to the Windsor Star’s Jim Parker in a report.

“No, Marc Bergevin said he’ll either be in Montreal or Hamilton” Rychel said. “He’s a big kid, he’s played with men and he’s ready. There’s nothing for him to prove in junior hockey.”

It seems as so Mr. Bergevin is sold on de la Rose’s play and has decided that he will have a good chance of making the team right out of camp or fight his way through Hamilton. de la Rose impressed the Habs brass during this years under 20 World Junior Chamionships in which Bergevin had high praise for the young Swedish centre.

de la Rose who will only turn 19 a week from now has already played in the big boys league in Sweden the past couple of seasons and has had great success during that time. He finished this season with 13 points (7 goals, 6 assists) in 49 games while playing mainly on the 3rd and 4th lines with limited ice time. de la Rose has already developed a solid two-way game that has him penciled in as a future 2nd/3rd line centerman or winger.

It will be interesting to see where de la Rose will play next year whether it be Hamilton or Montreal he is a solid player with good size and hockey iq.
