P.K. Subban to discuss contract after the season
P.K. Subban contract negotiations will resume after the season as Subban say’s he wants to focus on the rest of the regular season and playoffs. According to a source Subban is asking for 7-8 years in the $8.5 million range. Don’t expect to see a heavily front loaded deal similar to that of Shea Weber’s monster deal, although something similar but not as much for sure.
Elliotte Friedman of CBC confirmed that Subban and Canadiens GM Marc Bergevin have decided to wait until after the season to discuss his new contract.
Two players who are going to wait until after the season to worry about their next contracts: Montreal’s P.K. Subban (restricted) and Ryan Miller of St. Louis (unrestricted). Both Doug Armstrong and Marc Bergevin are unafraid of negotiating during the season, but the two players feel it is better to concentrate on games.
