Gorges undergoes surgery on hand out 4 weeks

The Montreal Canadiens announced this afternoon that Josh Gorges underwent surgery to repair a fracture in his hand and will miss 4 weeks. Gorges suffered the injury when blocking a shot off his hand last Saturday when the Habs played the Toronto Maple Leafs. Gorges continued to play over the next two games before being shutdown in Phoenix.

It will be interesting to see if the Canadiens recall defenseman Nathan Beaulieu from Hamilton.

Other injury notes, Brandon Prust will be back in the lineup on Wednesday when the Habs host the Boston Bruins at the Bell Centre. Also Carey Price skated this morning.
