Habs Prospect Lehkonen to move from KalPa to Frölunda

According to a Finnish news report Montreal Canadiens prospect Artturi Lehkonen is or will be traded from KalPa of the Liiga (Finnish Hockey League) to the Frölunda Indians of the SHL (Swedish Hockey League). Lehkonen is a 2nd round draft pick, picked 55th overall this past summer from the 2013 draft.

The reasoning for the move is because Lehkonen’s current club KalPa has officially been relegated from the Liiga to the 2nd tier league Mestis and Lehkonen will be moved to a more competitive club in the SHL.

Lehkonen hasn’t played since the world juniors due to a foot/ankle injury but did finish the season with 20 points in 33 games.

Savon Sanomat Player of the market’s information, Lehkonen the young star attacker has not yet to confirm new address on Tuesday.
