Other Team(s) Inquiring about Lars Eller?
According to a source the Montreal Canadiens have received calls from one or more teams inquiring about center Lars Eller. Eller, 24, has registered 21 points (10 goals, 11 assists) and is a -8 in 61 games this season with the Habs. Eller started the year off with a bang collecting 8 points (5 goals, 3 assists) and was a +4 in 10 games.
Lars Eller was the main piece in the trade that sent Jaroslav Halak to St. Louis back in the summer of 2010. since then Eller has played in 263 games spanning over 4 seasons and has put up 96 points during that time.
Eller has been mainly centering the Habs 3rd line in which has featured a carousel of players this season which may have resulted in his decrease in point production this year compared to last year’s shortened season where he posted 30 points in 46 contests.
This situation is probably similar to the one that floated around earlier this year when TSN and ESPN reported that teams called Montreal about Max Pacioretty. This doesn’t necessarily mean the Habs are shopping Eller it could just be that other clubs are interested in him and are calling about his availability.
