Diaz could be traded before the Olympic break

Habs Swiss defenseman Raphael Diaz could be traded before the Olympic break according to reports. Diaz, 28, has 11 points in 46 games and has been a healthy scratch for a number of games recently. Diaz will become a UFA at the end of this season and if he goes unsigned he could get around $2-$2.5 million plus on the open market.

With Diaz being a healthy scratch for the past 4 games and now 5 including tonight’s game a lot of eye brows have raised hinting that he may be traded very soon. Although others are saying that he has just been a victim of a crowded defense lineup and hasn’t played well enough to get back in to the lineup.

Possible destinations for Diaz are Colorado Avalanche, Detroit Red wings, New York Islanders and the New York Rangers
