What will Bergevin do with Briere?

General Manager Marc Bergevin said today that he has not heard of any tension between forward Daniel Briere and head coach Michel Therrien. Bergevin also stated that Briere has picked up his play of late possibly hinting that they will be keeping him for a bit longer than initially thought.

The Fourth Period reports that Briere talked with Bergevin and Therrien recently and rumors came out that the Habs are shopping the 36-year-old veteran. The Fourth Period also suggests that since Alex Galchenyuk’s injury will keep him out until the Olympic break the Habs may be better off holding on to Briere until Galchenyuk returns.

Bergevin told TVA sports that he is not ruling out the option of calling someone up from Hamilton to take the place of Alex Galchenyuk.

I believe if a good deal for Briere comes their way then Bergevin will probably be keen on pulling the trigger and filling the void from Hamilton for the time being.
